Colin Green
Associate

Colin works with clients and their advisors to assist them with their corporate, estate, personal, and international tax planning needs, and advises them on various tax planning strategies.  Colin has particular experience in designing and implementing corporate reorganizations, estate plans, and structured transactions.

Clients value Colin’s ability to break-down and communicate complex tax structures, enabling them to make business decisions to achieve their objectives.

Colin provides clients with the tax structures and guidance to:

  • structure their transactions (whether it be buying or selling a business or real estate) in the most tax-efficient manner possible;
  • implement corporate reorganizations to lower their effective rate of tax; and,
  • assist with the implementation of a comprehensive and integrated estate plan.

Colin’s practice focuses on helping clients answer the following key questions:

  1. How can I achieve maximum tax-efficiency (i.e. save as much money as possible) in operating or selling my business?
  2. What is the best way to transition my business to the next generation?
  3. How can I structure my affairs so as to ensure my family’s financial security and well-being in case something was to happen to me?

Prior to being called to the Ontario Bar in 2008, Colin completed his articles with a large national firm in Toronto.  Colin joined BrazeauSeller.LLP after practicing in Toronto with a boutique law firm that specialized in tax law.  He is a graduate of the UBC Faculty of Law and received the Osler LLP Prize for Advanced Taxation in his graduating year while on exchange at the University of Ottawa for achieving the highest standing in the tax law field.

In his spare time, Colin is an avid ultimate frisbee player.  He also enjoys skiing and climbing.
