PROFILE

Alexander specializes in corporate and commercial law.  He joined the corporate and commercial law team at Brazeau Seller Law in the fall of 2019 after relocating to Ottawa from Toronto.  Prior to joining Brazeau Seller Law, Alexander practised at a law firm affiliated with a CPA firm where he gained extensive experience advising family businesses on corporate and succession planning matters.  Before that, Alexander practised for several years at a mid-sized law firm, where he advised many of the firm’s key clients on commercial agreements and transactions.  As such, Alexander is experienced with advising clients of all sizes – from sole proprietors to family businesses to the Fortune 500 – on a diverse array of corporate and commercial matters including:

  • corporate structuring and reorganizations including establishing holding/operating corporations, family trusts, and implementing rollovers, freezes, and share exchanges;
  • acting on business purchase and sale transactions;
  • preparing and negotiating complex commercial agreements including supply and distribution agreements, technology and intellectual property licensing agreements, services agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and employment agreements; and
  • acting on secured transactions.

In his practice, Alexander delivers value to clients by being proactive and always applying the law in a practical, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Alexander is an editor for the Law Society of Ontario, responsible for updating the chapters on opinions, searches, and secured transactions within the lawyer licensing examination study materials distributed to all candidates.

Alexander holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where he was awarded the David Sabbath Prize in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
