PROFILE
Kate joined Brazeau Seller Law in 2023, after completing her summer and articling programs with the firm. She is now a member of the firm’s civil litigation group. Kate’s practice includes construction, commercial, real estate, and corporate litigation.
Kate received her JD from the University of Ottawa, with a specialization in Law and Technology. Kate was the president of the Law and Technology Students Society, and worked as a research assistant for Professor Jeremy de Beer on a variety of projects related to intellectual property law, international trade, and clean technology. Kate also received the Gowling WLG Prize in International Trade Law.
Prior to law school, Kate graduated with outstanding achievement in Viola Performance from McGill University before completing a Masters degree in Fashion Studies at Ryerson University. Her graduate work focused on how fashion plays a key role in the class stratification of cultural spaces in New York City, using the Metropolitan Opera as a case study.
Kate grew up in Ottawa and maintains an active role in the Ottawa music community. She is the Principal Violist of the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra and enjoys supporting Ottawa Chamberfest and OrKidstra.
